At Crimewatch Scotland, we believe that safer communities are created when businesses, organisations and public services are able to communicate, cooperate and work together.

We connect retailers, licensed premises and other businesses through a combination of partnership, information sharing and modern communications technology.

From helping retailers respond to crime and antisocial behaviour, to supporting pubs, bars, nightclubs and restaurants within Scotland’s night-time economy, our aim is to help businesses become better informed, better connected and better prepared.

Through TRIBE, our Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PTToC) communications technology, authorised Crimewatch Scotland users can communicate quickly across local and wider geographical areas, helping create a connected network of businesses, community CCTV Service Centres, affiliated dispatchers and, where available, local Police.

We want retailers, licensed premises and other organisations to know that they do not have to deal with safety and security concerns in isolation.

By creating stronger connections between participating businesses and other authorised organisations, we aim to contribute towards safer places in which to work, shop, visit and enjoy.

Our Goals

Our goals are to:

• Build safer business communities by encouraging cooperation and communication between participating organisations.
• Support Scotland’s retailers in their efforts to prevent, identify and respond to retail crime, antisocial behaviour and other security concerns.
• Support a safer night-time economy by helping pubs, bars, nightclubs, restaurants, hotels and other licensed premises communicate and work together.
• Provide modern communications technology through TRIBE, enabling authorised users to communicate quickly and reliably using Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PTToC).
• Strengthen communication and information sharing between participating businesses, community CCTV Service Centres, affiliated dispatchers and local Police where available.
• Promote professional operational standards through good radio discipline, appropriate information sharing and support from our affiliated dispatchers.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with our members, public-sector organisations, industry partners and local communities.
• Operate a professional, responsible and well-managed service that our members and partners can have confidence in.
