Helping fight retail crime!
Organised crime gangs, professional and habitual shoplifters cost Britain’s retailers in excess of £2 billion per annum.
The 2025 Retail Crime Prevention Survey issued by the British Retail Consortium states that retail crime cost UK retailers a whopping £2.5 billion per annum.
Professional criminals who steal to order and use sophisticated methods to dispose of their gains commit a significant proportion of the crime. They are frequently involved in other activities including drugs, robbery, housebreaking and fraud.
Crimewatch Scotland has developed a nationwide information sharing radio system to detect and deter criminals who impact on business profitability.
CRIMEWATCH is a tried and tested service and provides a tool to assist with this problem. Membership brings a lot of benefits to local businesses, their staff and local people. Why not get in touch?
An increased feeling of security
With a CRIMEWATCH Radio to hand, people feel reassured that they are not working in isolation and are aware of potential threats in the vicinity, and if there is an incident they can link-up quickly with a wider support network of other users particularly community CCTV Service Centres and local Police, with instant communications before, during and after an incident.
A community partnership benefitting all
The program is run in close partnership with local councils, local Police and CCTV service centres for people in their local area to increase safety, security and instil a sense of quality of life for everyone.
We achieve this by promoting closer community ties, and by sharing ideas and disseminating information through community programs that encourage participation in crime prevention and the building of safe and confident communities. But the key element is its relationship with local law enforcement.
Membership is open to all residents over the age of 18.
